EPHEMERAL PERCEPTIONS: Small Polaroid Transfers with Watercolor | 12 Images

These unique prints are the result of transferring a "one-shot" Polaroid photograph to watercolor paper and then painting on it's surface with watercolors. The normally crisp and glossy nature of the photograph changes to a softer texture with more delicate colors. Since I took these images in Western Pennsylvania, where the light is subdued, diffuse and not inherently dramatic,  the result captures the mood of the moment, conveying the sense of tranquility and serenity.

This work comprised the one-person exhibit at the Carnegie Museum of Natural History

Several pieces are in the collection of the Polaroid Corporation.
